Anne Frank: A History for Today
is now on display at The Anne Frank Center, USA, located at 38 Crosby Street in downtown Manhattan.
Beginning with her birth in Frankfurt, Germany in 1929, students trace Anne Frank’s life and times as they connect to the broader history of WWII and the Holocaust, using selections from Anne’s diary juxtaposed with photographs, documents, and news articles of the time period. The power of Anne’s first-person narrative provides an exceptionally intimate perspective that brings this tumultuous era in history to a personal and, for many people, more tangible level.
Education program content includes WWII, the Holocaust, scapegoating, anti-Semitism, racism, propaganda, and genocide, as well as human rights, democracy and conflict resolution.
Education programs for grades 2-12 are available at the AFC Monday-Friday by appointment. Programs include a video presentation, exhibit tour and discussion. A visit with a Holocaust survivor can be added. Suggested donation is $2/child.
