SAMUEL LISSNER is a senior at Cresskill High School, in Cresskill, New Jersey. The grandson of Holocaust survivors Ada and Sol Urbach, Mr. Lissner has dedicated much of his life to educating people about the Holocaust and to ensuring the survival of the stories of the Holocaust. In this capacity, Mr. Lissner has been asked to speak at various venues and conferences, including New York’s annual Commemoration of the Holocaust, the Generation-to-Generation dinner, and the Bergen County YMCA when the exhibit Schindler was on loan from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Mr. Lissner has received accolades and praise from many survivors and others. Hanna Hirshaut, a survivor, had this to say after hearing Mr. Lissner's speech at a Yom HaShoah ceremony: “We are always concerned about what is going to happen after we are gone. With young people like you we shouldn’t worry. You are our future, and a link between the past and the future.”
